Q1. Can you get an even higher rate?
A: Yes, you can. The key is your location. For PD purposes, your location is not the location of your client's plant. The rule book says your location is where you rest or sleep. Sometimes the client's plant is located in a small town, but if your hotel is located in the nearest big city, a higher Federal rate may apply. Find IRS Publication 463, or the link to it, select chapter 6 and then go to "reimbursements". (21-A7)
